Product & Service
KingsCrowd provides a suite of quant-driven tools to help empower individual investors to search, perform due diligence and manage their portfolio of startup investments.
To date, KingsCrowd has rated over 3,000 individual companies that have raised capital via online exchanges using its proprietary rating algorithm, Merlin. KingsCrowd covers offerings hosted on many of the platforms that A&E subscribers know well: Republic, StartEngine, Wefunder, SeedInvest, Netcapital, Microventures, and more.
KingsCrowd’s database collects over 500 data points on each and every company raising capital via online exchanges. This data is then funneled through its patent-pending rating algorithm to score companies making it easy to conduct due diligence on the myriad of investment opportunities available to you.
The rating algorithm is so powerful that KingsCrowd recently launched KingsCrowd Capital. If you are an accredited investor, you can invest one check and receive exposure to 100 highly rated startups.
In the future, the team plans to continue to expand into new asset classes including collectibles on platforms like Rally Rd. and Otis, real estate on platforms like Fundrise and Groundfloor, and digital securities such as NFTs and cryptos.
The long-term vision is to own the world’s private market data.
KingsCrowd’s business model relies on monetizing its services through subscriptions between $15 and $50 per month, sponsorship (e.g., Charles Schwab sponsors newsletter), and management fees (KC Capital charges a 1% management fee on assets under management and a 10% carry).
Over the next 18 to 24 months, with the capital raised, the KingsCrowd team plans to expand across asset classes (e.g., collectibles, real estate, digital assets), geographies (e.g., UK, LATAM, APAC) and channels (e.g. brokerage, RIAs).
The team plans to invest heavily in growth initiatives and marketing to expand the reach and scale of the company.
Market Overview
In the next decade, it is estimated that nearly $10 trillion in private market assets will trade via online exchanges. In 2022 alone, nearly 1 million individuals deployed $30 billion into 2,000+ companies via private market exchanges such as Republic and Wefunder.
This number has more than doubled every year since 2016 and is showing no signs of slowing down.
With such a vast quantity of deals and marketplaces to invest in, retail investors demand a data-driven intelligence platform to help them search, perform due diligence and manage their alternative investment portfolios.
With no ‘Bloomberg’ like solution for this market, KingsCrowd aims to be the one stop data intelligence platform for startup investors like you.
