As far as today’s startups are concerned, today’s potential Unicorn of the Week is wading into some very profitable waters. Best of all, they’re providing an eco-friendly solution to an industry in dire need of greenification (is that a word? Oh well).
The medicine industry produces roughly 194 billion plastic bottles per year. To put it another way, the pharmaceutical industry is responsible for more than 6,000 tons of single-use plastic and carton waste per year.
Well, today’s featured potential unicorn is looking to remedy this problem and bring a environmentally conscious solution to a more than $375 billion market. Best of all, it has already produced revenues north of $10 million in each of the past two years – and it is expanding its product lines this year.
Did we mention they already have 13 patents? No? Well, now we did.
As always, we’re not just bringing a main course to the dinner table, and just like a barbeque restaurant, the side dishes are as delicious as the entrée.
In keeping with the eco-friendly theme, we’ll tell you about a startup that developed a platform that makes communities’ adoption of solar technology a breeze. Plus, a medtech startup that has already brought in more than $30 million of lifetime revenue thanks to its serotonin-producing technology.
