I started my first business when I was 15 years old. You could say that I was an entrepreneur – but I didn’t think of myself that way at the time.

Really, I was just an average young dude trying to make more money than I could at my minimum wage job.

As luck would have it, entrepreneurship struck a chord with me. More than 15 years later, I’m proud to call myself an entrepreneur – after all, my businesses helped me build my fortune and ultimately allowed me to become the angel investor I am today.

Now, I spend a lot of time at conferences, and of the most common things I hear people say is: “I wish I ran my own business.” It makes me want to scream! I want to grab them by the shoulders and say, “YOU CAN!”

But whenever I tell them so, I get the same old excuses…

“I don’t have the time.” “I don’t have the money.” “All I have is an idea.” “I don’t know how to begin.

Like I said… scream-worthy. Because you don’t need any of those things to get started. Do you think 15-year-old me started with a stack of cash or a full-time commitment? No way! I was still in high school, remember?

The problem is that nobody believes me when I say it’s a lot easier than you’d think.

That’s why I decided to team up with Eric Siu for something special. He’s the co-host of our daily digital marketing podcast, Marketing School.

Yesterday we recorded a secret, live video episode of Marketing School – only this time, we weren’t just talking about marketing. We decided to hit ‘rewind’ and cover some of the things that happen before marketing becomes really important; namely, how to start a profitable online business from scratch.

You see, Eric and I have done this before… more than once. Between the two of us, there’s a long list of web-based projects that we’ve seen through, from “just an idea” to “moneymaking powerhouse.” At this point, we have the process pretty well figured out.

And we want to make sure that you do too. Entrepreneurship is the American dream – and running an online business is as good as it gets. You can work from anywhere in the world… set your own hours… and the overhead cost is next to nothing.

So, if even just a small part of you wants to take the leap and become your own boss… this episode is for you. Just click here to watch.

Until next time,
