The Top 3 Ways to Build Your Network… Starting Today

Daymond here.

As both an entrepreneur and an angel investor, I can tell you there’s nothing more important than building, developing, and maintaining a solid network.

Yes, building out your network will give you a longer list of contacts… but it’s more than that.

It will also keep you on top of the latest market trends, give you the tools you need to advance further as an investor, and help you develop higher quality deal flow that can set you up for a lifetime of amazing investor opportunities.

Networking has been one of the keys to my own angel investing success, which is why I want to offer some of my own advice to you. Today, let’s talk about three simple ways you can build up your network… starting right now.

1. Dive Deeper into Your Professional Network

Luckily, you’ve already achieved one of the hardest parts of kicking your network up a notch… getting started. Just by being here, you’re already off to a great start.

Even after only being around the Network for a short time, I can tell this is an incredible place to connect with a sea of investors and entrepreneurs.

However, Networks like these are exactly what you make them to be, which is why I encourage you to dig deeper. I know you have plenty of features on the site and on social media that can help you do just that.

Link up with your fellow members on this site. Reach out to another angel investor or entrepreneur you’ve never met. Connect and keep in touch with the founding teams in your portfolio.

And above all, use their contacts as a stepping stone for more deal flow. Sites like LinkedIn, for example, can be a great place to find this information.

That leads me to my next point.

2. Build Your Brand

Networking is a form of marketing. You’re trying to connect with people who will be assets to your professional circle by selling your brand.

Your brand is a reflection of who you are. With billions of names searched every single week online, you need to make sure your brand is something that will encourage people to want to connect and potentially do business with you from the get-go.

Building your brand requires a little bit of self-reflection. What are your strengths? Where does your expertise lie? What are your goals? Who are you trying to meet?

Once you’ve taken a bit of time to think, you can use this information to develop your “elevator pitch,” build your online presence, and tell people exactly who you are and what you can bring to the table as an investor or a professional contact.

Really, it’s all about putting yourself out there. Here’s one way you can get started…

3. Connect With Me on Social Media

I want to hear from you, and the best place to find me is on social media.

Find me on Instagram and Twitter and drop me a line to let me know you’ve joined the Angels & Entrepreneurs Network. Chances are, you’ll probably run into a few of your fellow new Network members, too.

Social media, at its best, makes the world smaller. It connects people with similar goals and passions from all over the world, making them stronger together.

By connecting with me and your fellow Network members, you not only have the chance to put your brand on a larger stage, but your voice makes the community that much more powerful.

I can’t wait to share the incredible deal opportunities I have in store for you.
